The IOU Hostel, Hebden Bridge is nestled in a peaceful woodland setting, just a ten-minute walk above the vibrant town. Part of the historic Birchcliffe Centre, the Hostel is surrounded by nature and steeped in local heritage.

Walking and Directions

From Commercial Street and the town centre, head up Birchcliffe Road. Pass Chapel Avenue and The Birchcliffe Centre on the left and turn left into Highfield, where there is a sign for IOU Hebden Bridge Hostel and car park. We are the orange-painted building behind the Chapel.

Public Transport

We encourage visitors to use public transport, where possible. Hebden Bridge Train Station is half a mile from the Hostel and a 15-minute walk. Trains are well connected, 30 mins from Manchester and 40 mins from Leeds Train Station. Hebden Bridge Station is wheelchair accessible Regular buses (595) run from Hebden Bridge Train Station at 10 minutes to and 20 minutes past the hour. Ask the driver for The Birchcliffe Centre. Debit/credit cards can be used on local buses. West Yorkshire Metro offers information about accessibility. Please note that Birchcliffe Road is a steep hill, so although only 15 mins walk, consider catching the bus especially if you have luggage. Parking

Free parking is on a first-come basis Please park in the Upper Car Park. From the Upper Car Park, take one of the paths on the left down the hill and find the Hostel at the back of the former Chapel. Accessible & Blue Badge Parking Accessible Parking for Blue Badge holders is on the Lower Car Park with step-free access directly down the path to the Hostel (please request a space when booking).
