IOU Hostel offers contemporary, comfortable, and affordable accommodation in 14 en suite rooms. Proudly Yorkshire’s only independent self-catering vegetarian hostel, set in the vibrant town of Hebden Bridge, close to the Pennine Way, with excellent transport links.Surrounded by stunning woodland and gardens and a private wildflower meadow and terrace, the hostel provides an inspiring escape.
Choose from private ensuite rooms, including a wheelchair-accessible double room, budget-friendly dorm beds, or even exclusive hire of the entire hostel ideal for groups, conferences, retreats, schools, and community organisations.

Managed by the arts charity IOU Creation Centre, the Hostel is more than just a place to stay. It’s a creative hub, offering an Artist in Residence programme, regular exhibitions, and opportunities to take part in workshops and retreats.

Bikes at the IOU Hostel
On-road or off-road we have all you need to get the most out of your cycling break in the Calder Valley
The IOU Hostel has a bike cleaning station and 7 purpose built bike storage units on site, each able to accommodate up to two adult bikes, subject to size.
The bespoke metal storage units contain a bike locking bar, electric points for charging ebikes, hat hooks, CCTV coverage and individual code locking mechanisms.
Book online to reserve a bike storage unit for your stay.
You will receive an individual and unique code, via email, to access the bike storage for the duration of your stay at £10 per day per unit.
Please note we do not allow bikes or electric bikes, or the charging of electric bikes inside the Hostel. You are able to charge your bike at the electric point in the bookable bike storage units.
Bikes are stored at your own risk.
